The ingredients needed to prepare Mac & cheese:
- Prepare 250 g macaroni
- You need 500 g beef mince
- You need 1/2 onion diced
- Take 1/2 green or red pepper diced
- Use 1 tsp fresh parsley chopped
- Take 2 Tbs Knorr rich beef and tomato soup
- You need 1 tsp Robersons steak & chops spice
- Provide 300 g grated cheddar cheese about a handful for topping
- Provide 3 Tbs butter
- Get 2 Tbs flour
- Provide 1 ltr milk
- Take Handful breadcrumbs
- You need to taste salt & pepper
Instructions to make Mac & cheese:
- Boil the macaroni in salty water and before its totally cooked run under cold water to stop cooking process.
- In a pan heat 2Tbs oil and add mince meat. Brown.
- Add the onions, peppers, parsley, spice and salt. Stir continuously to stop from sticking.
- Cook until tender and add the knorr rich beef and tomato soup. Add water and cook a few minutes.Set aside.
- In a small pot melt butter,add flour and stir. Cook until it forms a paste and start adding milk bit by bit vigorously stirring to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the grated cheese and set aside. Add the cooked macaroni and fold into the sauce.
- Preheat oven to 180degrees.Butter casserole dish and start layering starting with the mince next macaroni/mince /macaroni.
- On top layer of macaroni add some grated cheese and breadcrumbs. Bake for about 20mins or until top is nicely golden Enjoy
