The ingredients needed to cook Strawberry & Oat Bars:
  1. Prepare 280 g diced fresh strawberries
  2. You need 200 g porridge oats
  3. You need 150 g plain flour
  4. Provide 140 g light brown sugar
  5. You need 160 mls vegetable oil
  6. You need 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  7. Take 1/2 tsp baking powder
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt
  9. Provide 1 1/2 tsp cornflour
  10. Use 1 tbsp brown sugar
Steps to make Strawberry & Oat Bars:
  1. Mix the oats, sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Stir in the oil to bring the mix together.
  2. Sprinkle the strawberries with the extra tbsp sugar and the cornflour. Stir to mix.
  3. Line a baking tin with parchment paper. Press half of the oat mix into the bottom of the tray covering all of the base. Press down well with your hands.
  4. Place the strawberries in an even layer over the base. Then place the rest of the mix over the top, press it all down firmly with your hands.
  5. Bake in the oven at 180 C for 40 mins. Allow to cool completely then chill in the fridge for an hour before slicing.
