The ingredients needed to prepare Masala Gud with seeds:
- Get 500 gms Jaggery (Gud)
- Take 1.5 tspn Caraway seeds(ajwain baarik wali)
- Provide 2 tspn Fennel seeds whole (saunf)
- You need 15-20 Almonds chopped
- Use 5-6 walnuts finely chopped (optional)
- Take Crushed Green Cardamom (choti Elaichi)
- Provide 2 tsp desiccated coconut or sookha nariyal (thinly sliced or grated)
- Take 2 tsp ginger powder
- Prepare 1 tsp white roasted sesame seeds for garnish
- You need 1 tbsp Pure ghee only for greasing the plate to set
Instructions to make Masala Gud with seeds:
- First of all dry roast saunf, ajwain and all the chopped dry fruits and cardamom.
- Dry roast desiccated coconut too for 1-2 minutes
- Dry roast sesame seeds too.
- Roast seeds and keep separately for spreading on the top at the end.
- Roast everything till u get the aroma
- Now keep grated jaggery for melting in a thick bottom pan on a low flame and grease the plate and keep it aside.
- Keep stirring in between so that jaggery shouldn’t stick to the bottom
- Once it’s completely melted add ginger powder and give a mix to it
- Now switch off the flame and quickly add all the roasted items and mix nicely.
- If you want to make it for senior citizens who have problems in chewing the nuts, you can grind them all and add in the melted jaggery before setting.
- Pour the content in the greased thali to set. - Tap the thali on your kitchen platform so that no air bubbles are formed and gur can be levelled.
- Sprinkle some roasted seeds on the top.
- You can level it with the back of a spoon or spatula too - - Now let it cool & set.
- After sometime you can give impression of pieces with a sharp knife. (Size of the pieces depends on how big u want)
