The ingredients needed to prepare Rajma with steamed rice:
- You need For Rajma -
- Take 250 grams Rajma (kidney beans) soaked overnight
- Prepare 1 cup tomato puree
- You need 1 tsp ginger and green chilli paste
- Take 2 tbsp oil
- Take 2-3 bay leaves
- Prepare 2 black cardamoms coarsely grounded
- Take 3-4 black peppercorns coarsely grounded
- Take 2 cloves coarsely grounded
- Use 1 Cinnamon stick coarsely grounded
- Get 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Provide 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Get 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Use Handful Coriander leaves chopped
- Provide As per taste Salt
- Prepare As required Water
- Take For Steamed Rice -
- Get 1 cup rice
- You need 1 spoon pure ghee
- You need Little salt
- Take 1 cup water
Steps to make Rajma with steamed rice:
- First, wash the rajma twice in water. Soak it in water overnight or soak in warm water for 3-4 hours.
- Wash the soaked Rajma again with water. Then add soaked Rajma, turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker.
- Cook it and take 5-6 whistles, then switch off the gas. Once the cooker is cool open the lid Rajma become soft and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil in a deep pan. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, clove, black peppercorns, black cardamoms, cumin seeds, ginger and green chillies paste and saute for a few minutes.
- Add Coriander powder, red chilli powder, tomato puree and salt to taste, then mix it well and cook it for about 5-6 minutes or till the oil starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Add boiled Rajma and 1 cup water (or water as per need) and mix it well, then cook for about 7-8 minutes on medium to low flame.
- Add garam masala powder and cook for about two 2 minutes on high flame. Place the Rajma in a serving bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves. Rajma |No onion No garlic| is ready to serve.
- For Steamed Rice -
- Wash rice twice in running water. In a pressure cooker add washed rice, salt, pure ghee with 1 cup of water and mix it well.
- Cook it and take 1 whistle. Then switch off the gas and keep it aside for cooling the pressure cooker.
- Once the cooker is cool open the lid. Steamed Rice is ready to eat. Serve it with hot Rajma | No onion No garlic|
