The ingredients needed to make Suji halwa:
- You need 1 cup rava or sooji
- Get 1/2 cup ghee
- Use 1 cup sugar
- Prepare 4 cups water
- Take 4 green Elaichi pounded roughly
- Use 2 tbsp chopped cashews
- Get 2 tbsp chopped almonds
- Prepare 2 tbsp washed raisins
Steps to make Suji halwa:
- First, we will make the sugar syrup. Combine water, sugar and Elaichi in a heavy bottomed pan. Bring it to a boil. Stir once or twice inbetween.
- Let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Sugar syrup is ready. Strain the syrup and keep aside.
- Now, heat a kadai and add ghee. Once the ghee has heated reduce the heat and add suji.
- Roast the suji on low heat till it turns golden brown.
- Add the sugar syrup mix carefully and cover the kadai.
- Keep the heat low, and let the halwa cook for 4-5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes open carefully and add the chopped almonds and cashews. Also add the raisins. cook for 1-2 minutes more. Yummy halwa is ready.
