The ingredients needed to prepare Sweet Potato Kheer:
- Use 1 cup Sweet potato Peeled and finely chopped or Grated
- Prepare 1/2 ltr Milk
- Get 3 tbsp Sugar or jaggery or milkmad
- Prepare 2 tsp ghee
- Take As needed Chopped cashews, pista and almonds for garnishing
- Use 1/4 tsp cardamom powder (elaichi)
- Take 2-3 Saffron strands
Instructions to make Sweet Potato Kheer:
- Wash, peel and grate sweet potatoes. - Heat ghee in a pan, Roast the cashews and almonds in ghee. Fry till little brown and remove them in bowl and set aside.
- To same ghee add grated sweet potato and saute for 2-3 minutes. - Then add milk and let it boil on low flame for about 10 minutes until the milk thickens. Stirring constantly.
- Add sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame. - Add cardamom powder and mix well.
- Garnish with roasted nuts. - Serve hot or cold.
- Adjust the quantity of sugar as needed.
- You can also use milkmad or jaggery. - You can keep in refrigerator and serve chilled.
