The ingredients needed to make Pindi & Payar:
- You need 1/2 cup Red Choura (Vanpayar)-
- Provide 3 cups Pindi -
- Provide 1 Onion -
- Use 4 Garlic (Chinese) -
- Take 8 Curry leaves -
- Prepare 2 - 3 tsps Chilli powder -
- Provide to taste Salt
Instructions to make Pindi & Payar:
- Soak the red choura beans overnight.Cook this with 1/2 cup water (with out adding salt)in a pressure cooker for a whistle.
- Meanwhile cut the pindi into circles first (removing the outermost covers),discarding the strands that comes along and then into small cubes.
- Open the cooker & add the 3 cups of chopped pindi to this along with salt and cook for a whistle.
- Saute the chopped onions,garlic and curry leaves in a tbsp oil.Add the Chilli powder in medium heat. Add little water sothat the chilli doesn't burn.
- Once the oil separates open the cooker & add the water,if any is left in it.Cook till the water dries up.Now add the cooked pindi and Payar to this & cook till it's well coated in the masalas.
