  22. Prepare 1 pinch methi seeds

Instructions to make Sambhar:
  1. Wash dal and put in the cooker, add 2 cups of water.
  2. Heat on medium flame for 2-4 whistles
  3. Wash all veggies and chop them into pieces
  4. Pour 5 cups water add chopped veggies, cook on medium flame until soft.
  5. Soak tamarind in 1/4 cup of hot water.
  6. Mash the dal to smooth.
  7. When veggies are cooked add sambhar powder, turmeric, salt and cook for 5mins
  8. Pour tamarind and add smooth dal mix well, boil it and add salt to taste
  9. Heat oil and add mustard cumin and methi, add curry leaves and hing too
  10. Pour this over the sambhar, your sambhar is ready to be served.
